Getting sick
Current mood: kinda sick x_x
really, really sucks.
I'm coming down with bronchitis; at least, that what it feels like, and that's what certainly seems to be indicated by the "dying baby seal cough" I had last night, which always accompanies bronchitis (at least in me. I hear that kind of cough is fairly common).
I'm a little worried, to be honest, because I've always been prone to bronchial illnesses (which makes playing in the rain one of the worst of my favorite activities.... *sigh*), and I haven't even had any indications of a simple cold at all this time. I was feeling fine--a little sniffly all day Sunday, and I felt a little sick on Saturday night, and then, after I got home from hanging out with Jaymes and Mikey and Sammy-tha, BAM!, the racous, whooping coughs set right in. I just had bronchitis not too long ago, in January, and it took me a week to recover. The last time I had bronchitis-like symptoms before that was in August when I was up in Big Bear for the Faire up there. At the time, I blamed the many shifts in altitude, allergens, and the fact that Big Bear gets *really* cold at night (I needed the sweater I brought, and had to bust out a blanket when we got back to camp from dinner). However, the fact that I'm here, three months after my last bout with bronchitis, apparently fending off its onset again, without any cold-like warning signs to precede it, worries me. I haven't been doing anything to really damage my lungs or throat a whole lot--okay, I like to go out jogging just after my parents have gone to bed, but it really hasn't been that cold lately down here. I fear that maybe my bronchial health is deteriorating, but maybe I'm just overreacting. (For the curious, the symptoms I had on Saturday night were simple--bad gas, dizziness, an aversion to food, and the feeling that I was going to vomit over the simplest things. I had gotten sunburned while the sun was out, so I think it wasn't anything worse than a bit of heat/sun-stroke, especially considering that by Sunday morning, those symptoms were gone.) I don't want to worry any bronchitis into existence, but its onset after being out in the cold air all of twenty to thirty minutes last night is definitely a red flag for me. I've consumed an entire large can of chicken and rice soup, and I feel a bit better, but I'm still going to limit my activities to "low-impact", indoor ones, and will probably go to bed reaaaaaaaaaaally early today. After all, I need to go job-hunting in Apple Valley if I want to move in with Emily up there, and I want to feel capable of doing so by tomorrow morning. The sooner I get it done, the better, right?
Well, wish me good health. Rest assured, if I don't get better, or if this happens again, I'll go see a doctor. Promise.
